Durga’s odyssey in the ocean of music was flagged off from Sri Jayadurga Temple, Varapuzha, way back in the year 1997, where she performed her first ever classical music concert (Arrangettamm). Since then she never looked back and today, after performing in more than 250 stage concerts, it has become a way of life for her to accept the appreciations and blessings from people of all walks of life. Among these she rates the first prize won in the music competition held in the year 2000, in memory of Late Augustine Joseph, father of music maestro Sri. Yesudas.
A plus two student of S.N.V.Sanskrit Secondary School, North Parur, Durga Viswanath has expertise in various forms of classical music arena wherein she can perform 20 Varnas, 5 ata thala Varnas, 5 thillanas, 200 Keerthanams in Carnatic classical, 24 Ashtapadis and Kthakali sangeetham, all with ease and élan. And her tryst with music is continuing for achieving much higher goals.
Her brother Dhananjai Pai doing his 4th STD. He is also interested in music and is studying music.
After participating in various television programmes like ‘Swaramanjari’ & ‘Ponpulari Alapanam’ in Soorya TV for a period of six months, ‘Sapthaswarangal in Asianet TV and ‘Naleeyude Vanampadigal’ in Jevan TV, Durga is making her debut as a play back singer for the movie ‘Nandavanam’ produced by C.V Films.
